Speaker 2 (0:00) Happy Friday, everybody. Thank you so much for downloading or streaming the Be Our Guest podcast. Today, we have Ricky and Pam joining me and we play a fun little game where we have this statement leading the discussion. Blank is the perfect blank because blank, but you can't state the obvious. For example, you can't say Pop Century is the perfect resort because of its value. You have to come up with a reason as to why. Pop Century is the perfect resort because maybe it has the best energy during a run Disney weekend. You got to stay there once during a run Disney weekend because it's the place to be. That's where all the runners go. So we go around resorts, restaurants, philosophies on touring the parks and so forth and fill in those blanks and have discussions around that statement. And then we want to hear what you would add. on the clubhouse this weekend and Sunday night in the live call-in shows. And you can play this game with your friends and family over the weekend. Hopefully you'll continue the conversation with this topic. Don't forget today's podcast always brought to you by the magic for less travel. I'm your host, Mike Rallman from BeOurGuestPodcast.com and one of the senior agents over at the Magic for Less Travel. Happy Friday to you. Hope you're getting ready for a great weekend. Hope you didn't catch that I forgot what day of the week it was, but I caught it right at the right time. So we're all good. Getting ready for a big one here in the Rallman household because Mizzou. Big game this weekend. We're in Starkville, out of town. But I got to tell you this. My wife thinks they're doing something illegal at Mississippi State this weekend. And I got to ask you, you're going to be my judges on this in just a second. But let me get you introduced and I'll ask you about what we think is borderline illegal by our opposing team this weekend in Stark Vegas. So if we have any Bulldog fans, and I have some close ones I used to work with down at Space Camp. Shout out, Ruth. Speaker 2 (2:55) We'll see. But Ricky's here. She's from a DisneyWorldAfterAll.com and the mouse for less. Getting ready to go see Shamu. What's up, Ricky? Do they still have Shamu? Is that still a thing? Speaker 3 (3:07) I don't know. Speaker 3 (3:10) Not entirely sure. We're getting ready to see Sesame Street. Big Speaker 2 (3:15) Bird? Speaker 3 (3:16) I assume. I don't know. I haven't seen that Speaker 2 (3:20) in a long time. I know Mr. Hooper's long gone. Speaker 3 (3:23) I have not done much research on my SeaWorld shenanigans. I'm just going for the ride and we're going to see how this goes. My brother's like, let's go to SeaWorld and bring Lucy. I said, okay. Because he's been wanting to take her to Sesame Street Land for forever. And they have like trick or treating going on. And so I get to she gets to dress up. And so we're going to bring her costume and go trick or treating, I guess. And I'm just along for the ride. Speaker 2 (3:53) OK, here's the deal. If if you you must get like a selfie with Oscar the Groucho, it didn't happen. All Speaker 3 (4:01) right. I will. If I can find Oscar the Grouch, I will get a selfie with Oscar. Speaker 2 (4:04) If they don't have Oscar the Grouch, they don't have Sesame Street. I'm Speaker 3 (4:06) sure Speaker 2 (4:06) they have him. Come on. You got to Speaker 3 (4:07) have Speaker 2 (4:07) Oscar. I mean, come on. I mean, I don't know anything about Sesame Street land, but if you don't have Oscar the Grouch, you don't have. I mean, it's like Dr. Seuss land without having the Grinch. Speaker 3 (4:16) No, this is true. Yeah. So, I mean, I'm assuming that they have Oscar. I'll just have to find him. I mean, I don't know where he is, but I'm sure. I would Speaker 2 (4:24) be checking every trash can. I would definitely check Speaker 3 (4:27) every trash can. Yes. And every nest for Big Bird. Well, he's Speaker 2 (4:31) so big. I mean, it would be hard to find him. He's gigantic. He's yellow. Speaker 3 (4:35) He is. Yeah. And I wonder if I'll find Elmo. Speaker 2 (4:39) He's annoying. I would not find Elmo. What about Speaker 3 (4:42) Grover? Can I find Grover? Speaker 2 (4:44) Maybe. Cookie Monster would be cool. Speaker 3 (4:47) Grover, but he's at the end of the book. Cookie Speaker 2 (4:49) Monster's probably at that goth, like, new cookie store. He's probably not even into Gideon's. He's probably at that goth place. Speaker 3 (4:55) It's not a cookie store. It's a hand pie. And I actually. Speaker 2 (4:59) He's probably a Gideon's then. He might prefer. He might prefer Summer House. He might be coming off the reservation. I don't know. Speaker 3 (5:06) I actually, the last trip I was on, I did try Six Ravens and I thought it was good. We're so Speaker 2 (5:12) far off the rails. Pam Forrester. I know. I have a Speaker 3 (5:14) video that I have to post about Six Ravens that I'm so behind on. So that's coming eventually. I'm so Speaker 2 (5:19) out of my league right here. Okay. So Pam Forrester's here. She's from the Magic for Less Travel. I'm out of my box. Sesame Street, Six Ravens, Seven. We're going to be talking about horcruxes here in a second. I don't know what we're talking about at this point. Pam Forrester, corner of the magic for less trouble. Save us. What's up? Happy Friday. Happy Speaker 4 (5:38) Friday. We'll just move on to topics of other things. Yes. I mean, you know, it's the whole thing. It's that time of year. I feel like, do you feel like this time of year, like things start to speed up? Yes. Like toward, I feel like we're like going as fast as possible toward the end of the year. Speaker 2 (6:03) Have you started unpacking your Christmas trees? Speaker 4 (6:06) So that is actually in negotiation as we speak. Because Steve, I told you we're putting in some work being done in the house and that will be happening. Speaker 4 (6:21) soon not quite yet but soon i Speaker 3 (6:24) just decorated for halloween um so i mean i do Speaker 4 (6:29) a fall stuff out but by halloween there are trees that are already coming up i don't decorate them all right then but i like to have them up and sort of place where i want them to place and i bought a new tree this year so there's that how many Speaker 3 (6:44) trees is this Speaker 4 (6:45) i don't know i don't know gosh i'm not counting it you're Speaker 2 (6:48) like i'm not Speaker 4 (6:49) counting yeah no Speaker 2 (6:50) you don't want account that kind of stuff no Speaker 4 (6:52) i'm like because then somebody else knows the number and that's really none of their business Speaker 2 (6:56) just text Speaker 3 (6:59) it to me later okay Speaker 2 (6:59) don't text it she doesn't need to know it's there are Speaker 4 (7:03) double digits i Speaker 3 (7:05) figured that much yeah ricky Speaker 2 (7:07) it's it's none yeah this is what it is none of your business hey Speaker 3 (7:11) i'm a friend i support and love none Speaker 2 (7:16) yeah okay Speaker 2 (7:19) Okay, real quick. I get Cookie Monster. Now, I'm trying to think who might be my favorite Sesame Street person. I'd probably be Oscar the Grouch. Who's your favorite? Sesame Street? Yeah, Sesame Street. I was going to ask Pam. I'll let her get the first dibs on this. Speaker 4 (7:35) I really do like... Like, I love the crossover of the Muppet kind of thing. Speaker 2 (7:44) No, no, no. It's got to be OG. Like our generation Sesame Street, like from like the 70s. Speaker 4 (7:50) Okay. So I do like Big Bird and I do like Oscar because he had that little worm. Remember that where he was like friends with. Slimy. Yes. I don't remember a worm. I just remember Speaker 2 (8:00) Oscar just being foul. He was Speaker 4 (8:02) just Oscar was just sort of grumpy, but he was like just sort of like harmless grumpy. Yes. Kind of like me. Super grumpy. And I did like the Snuffleupagus, but I did like the Ernie, too. They were fun. But the Count, I think, was... Oh, the Speaker 2 (8:22) Count! Oh, Speaker 4 (8:23) oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. I forgot about the Count. Yes. So, yes, there are a lot of good Sesame Street characters. Speaker 2 (8:33) Yes, Robert Ducky, you're the one. Speaker 4 (8:37) God, Speaker 2 (8:38) you're bringing back all the core memories. I watched it so much. Speaker 4 (8:41) And Speaker 2 (8:41) then they had the pinball thing where you count your numbers. Maybe that was Electric Company. No, that Speaker 3 (8:45) was part of it. 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. Wow. Speaker 2 (8:50) We're the old Disney podcast, ladies and gentlemen. Ricky, real quick, what's yours? And we got to do our thing. Speaker 3 (8:55) Well, Pam named all of them. Such good Speaker 2 (8:58) memories. Speaker 3 (8:59) Right, yeah. Speaker 2 (9:02) Snuffleupagus. Speaker 3 (9:03) I guess, I mean, I have to go with Bert and Ernie, right? Like, they just, they're such great Muppets. So I feel like Bert and Ernie has to be my choice. But I did think about Slimy. I was thinking Slimy because obviously I knew his name. So, you know, and I was also thinking, oh gosh, now I'm blanking. Snuffleupagus. Was he Speaker 2 (9:27) imaginary? Wasn't he like a Big Bird's imaginary friend or something? Speaker 3 (9:31) There's talk that he's imaginary. I mean, I don't know what the official official... Speaker 2 (9:37) It was the 70s. This Speaker 3 (9:38) is true. I don't know what the official official status of Snuffy is, but there is a rumor that he was Big Bird's imaginary friend, but I don't know how true that rumor actually is. But I have heard that before. I've heard that before. I don't think he was Speaker 2 (9:53) real. Speaker 3 (9:55) So anyway, get ready for pictures from Sesame Street land this weekend. It'd be bonus Speaker 2 (10:02) if you get a picture with old Snuffleupagus. That would be awesome. That would be Speaker 3 (10:05) a bonus. That would be better than an Speaker 2 (10:07) Oscar, really, because that would Speaker 3 (10:08) be Speaker 2 (10:08) hard to imagine. It would be a little harder, yes. That would be sweet. Anyway, all right, today's topic. This isn't a Sesame Street podcast, but it just became one for like three minutes. That was kind of fun. This is brought to you by the Children's Television Workshop or something like that. Isn't that weird how you can go back to being six? I have not even seen that since I used to watch it on Channel 9. Speaker 3 (10:29) Then you've got to go with Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? I never Speaker 2 (10:31) saw that. Speaker 3 (10:32) Oh, that was my show. I love Speaker 2 (10:35) where the world is coming to Diego. I Speaker 3 (10:37) loved it so much. I watched Speaker 2 (10:39) 321 Contact. Yes, 321 Contact. Speaker 3 (10:42) Yes. But the thing that was very St. Louis, I know this is totally not Disney Speaker 2 (10:45) at all. Speaker 3 (10:45) DB's Speaker 2 (10:45) Delight. I know you're going to say it, right? No, no, no, Speaker 3 (10:48) no, Speaker 2 (10:48) no. Speaker 3 (10:49) It's the letter people. Speaker 2 (10:51) Yes, those kind of scared me, though. They Speaker 3 (10:53) scared me too. Yeah, I know. Those were funky. Speaker 2 (10:55) Those things were weird. It was the 70s, dude. Those things, they were like tripping. They were weird. It was Speaker 3 (11:00) a very trippy show. Yes, it was. And it was not aired on most PBS stations. It was only aired basically in St. Speaker 2 (11:08) Louis. Yes. Yes. Those things were freaky. Speaker 3 (11:12) It was very freaky, but it was only aired in St. Louis and I think one other city. I don't know. It was. And they were only like kids. There were only like 30. two episodes because they only did one episode for each letter and then like they did like scary they did these scary episodes oh i've done some research on the letter people because i'm like i remember the letter people they were weird that show scared me so much too was that the Speaker 2 (11:36) big tall t teeth guy yeah yeah Speaker 3 (11:39) tall teeth Speaker 2 (11:41) yes yes the letter people i've thought about them and 40 years they scared me to death and now Speaker 3 (11:48) we've lost everybody in the audience today look on Speaker 2 (11:51) youtube i'm sure it's yeah okay it is on Speaker 3 (11:53) youtube because i watched it on youtube that's why it seems Speaker 2 (11:55) freaky it was so weird weird kids this is why we are this is why gen x is what they are okay
