Speaker 1 (0:00) Please mind the gap between the train and the platform. Speaker 2 (0:03) This is Barbican Station. Speaker 2 (0:12) Hello and welcome back to Barbican Station. I'm excited to offer yet another interview with a member of the cast, as we did for last season. And this season, it is a returning guest to the show, Christopher Chung, who plays, of course, Roddy Ho. This was a fun conversation. We get into a few things about this season. Some really, really, we edge around some minor spoilers for the end of the season. If you're really concerned about that, you can avoid this. But I don't think that anything said here is something that you Speaker 1 (0:45) could really take the wrong way or give you some Speaker 2 (0:47) sort of major instinct on what's happening here. But just fair warning. With that, here's the interview. Speaker 1 (0:55) Hey, Chris, Jeff from Barbican Station here. Great to talk with you again. You too, mate. How are you? I'm great. So before we dive into this season, everyone I've talked to has loved last season, and Speaker 2 (1:06) especially your performance. So how was it to see folks' reaction to it, especially given you filmed this stuff so far in advance? Speaker 1 (1:12) Oh, it's wonderful. I mean, it's obviously been in the bank for about a year before it comes out. You know, it's the same with season six. So getting the reactions was... very comforting because obviously there was a heavier storyline for Ho in season five and I had to sit for a year anxiously waiting to see if it landed and thankfully it did. So it was really satisfying, especially I think the thing that's great about the show is that it really focuses, it manages to just shift the spotlight slightly onto each of the characters. in different ways in different seasons. So, you know, season three, we had like a little bit more of Standish and season five, you have a little bit more of me. Season six, you have quite a lot of River and Sid. So it's nice that the piece as a whole manages to give characters a bit of a moment each kind of season. Speaker 2 (2:05) Yeah. And, you know, this season we see Roddy recovering from heartbreak. Yeah. Just because she was a terrorist doesn't mean it wasn't a real relationship, at least already to him. Correct. And we see Roddy finding his inner Zen master. So talk a little bit about that. I Speaker 1 (2:21) think, you know, it kind of comes from him having gone through what he did with Tara and him like licking his wounds and trying to. I guess show the world that he's really learned from that experience and that he's become a better person because of it and he's had some life experience now with a woman so that's a huge thing for him so he feels like a little bit more of a Yoda in, in to certain, to certain aspects and
