Speaker 4 (0:01) Hey, it's Andy Cohen here with this week's chapter of Andy Cohen's Daddy Diaries podcast. The high highs and low lows of my life as a daddy to two kids and dozens of housewives. Joining me as always is my co-host, John Hill. Hey, John. Girl, hello. Girl, what a week. You were at an undisclosed location, but you were here with us. I settled my beef with Julia Stiles, but started a new beef against my will. this ass on Twitter. And I made Ben proud with my arm wrestling prowess. Oprah called in. Lady Posh entered the chat on my jeans. And Ben had some tough goodbyes. This is Andy Cohen's Daddy Diaries podcast. Speaker 4 (1:00) Monday, September 21st, 2026. Good morning, everybody. It is the 21st of September. It's Monday morning. There is a chill in the air here in New York City. John Hill is joining me on location in an undisclosed location in Pennsylvania. He's working on a project that we'll talk about another time. Speaker 4 (1:28) I'm freezing. Good morning, John. Yeah, I mean... It's also Yom Kippur. I should arguably not be working today, but I am. It's my choice. Do Speaker 3 (1:43) we Speaker 4 (1:43) say Happy New Year? Speaker 3 (1:44) Yes, you Speaker 4 (1:45) can say Shana Tova. Happy New Year. Absolutely. This is a day of reflection in the Jewish religion. I am fasting. I went to temple last night. Beautiful service at my temple. And I felt very... Close to God. And I came home and I went in to kiss Ben goodnight. It was about 9.30 and he was actually still awake. And I got in bed with him and we had the deepest, best talk for about 45 minutes. I mean, it was... What about? Oh man, life, gratitude. I asked him, he was like, tell me what Yom Kippur is about. And I was telling him and I was like, it's about repenting your sins and moving forward. And we went back and forth and talked about, well, what sins would you want to be forgiven for? And he's like, I don't know if I have any. And I was like, well, come up with one. He goes, I know you don't. You're perfect. I go, no one is perfect. We all have sins. And let's go. Let's think of them. Speaker 4 (3:10) He was like, well, maybe not listening. I said, that's a really good one. That is a really good one. And then this morning he didn't eat his breakfast much at all. And I talked to him about wasting food, which is not good when there are so many people who need food. Speaker 3 (3:33) What is a sin you would like Speaker 4 (3:35) to let go of, John, today? Well, as you're talking, Speaker 3 (3:38) I'm trying to think about the concept of what is a sin in the first place. That's something that we always struggled with growing up. Sins were, I wouldn't say not listening to you is a sin that you need to repent for. Speaker 4 (3:52) Well, I would, yeah, I mean, is it a sin? That's a growth Speaker 3 (3:56) area. It's misbehaving. As a child, it's kind of a sin. I mean, he's not cheating on a lover or something. I mean, so he's. Well, so what's something Speaker 4 (4:06) you would like? Instead of critiquing my conversation with Ben, what's something you would like to? I Speaker 3 (4:12) don't think I sinned too terribly. I think I stole some. Oh, you know what? I did not pay for my Target bag. I got everything together. I self-checked out. which was annoying. And then it was like, do you want a bag for 10 cents? And I said, no. Okay. Well, let me, let me give you a few Speaker 4 (4:33) more. Gossiping is considered a sin. Talking ill of others. Is that, that's something that I apologize for. I would say being Speaker 3 (4:44) passive aggressive is a sin. Speaker 4 (4:46) Okay. Well. Very good. Speaker 3 (4:48) I don't think I gossip too bad. I only gossip when it is for humorous purposes and doesn't hurt the other person being talked about. Speaker 4 (4:56) Well, I mean, I would argue that we were gossiping a little bit before the show. Speaker 3 (5:02) I don't know. I think that person deserved it. Okay. Speaker 3 (5:09) You're right, though. I do stand on ten toes down that gossip is terrible. So, sure, I can work on that. Okay. Speaker 4 (5:17) Jordan, is there a sin you would like forgiveness for? Speaker 5 (5:24) Great question. Probably gossiping. I've been gossiping a lot. I'm a class parent this year and I'm really been gossiping a lot this Speaker 4 (5:31) past Speaker 5 (5:32) week. Speaker 4 (5:32) Shakira is on the board for Scott today. Shakira, is there anything you'd like to put out there and be forgiven for, let go of? Speaker 5 (5:44) No, I don't think so. Speaker 4 (5:46) There's not. You have to think of one thing. You can't think of one thing. I mean, it can be something small and petty. Speaker 4 (5:56) I Speaker 5 (5:56) guess. Speaker 5 (5:59) Ove. Speaker 5 (6:01) Not gossiping, but I did have not nice thoughts about somebody. Okay, Speaker 4 (6:05) very good. That's a great one. That is a great one. Well, if we're doing Speaker 3 (6:09) just thoughts, then I got a lot. Yes. Okay. That's how I get through my day, honey. Speaker 3 (6:18) I'm with you. I am Speaker 4 (6:20) with you. Speaker 3 (6:21) I'll Speaker 4 (6:21) tell you what I feel good about. Yeah, what do you feel good about? I feel good about the visit that I had with my parents in St. Louis. That Speaker 3 (6:30) looks so cute. The picture you posted. I Speaker 4 (6:33) went Speaker 3 (6:33) to Speaker 4 (6:33) St. Louis for 24 hours. I am back on my monthly schedule of visits with my parents. And so I... I was there. I went Friday morning and I came back on Saturday. And, you know, I just go there to cheer them up and really water the flowers that are them, check in on them, try to rally them. Speaker 4 (7:06) and see if they'll listen to me about things. And it was really good because I missed July and August because I really devoted that to myself and my children. And they understood. They were okay with that. But what, John? I Speaker 3 (7:24) love that you're going to do this, honestly, in your... looking at your entire life and all the things that you do, I think making the time to go visit your parents like this is the number one best thing you could be doing. I couldn't Speaker 4 (7:37) agree more. So Speaker 3 (7:38) important. And Speaker 4 (7:38) I have to leave town on a business trip in two weeks and I'm sending the kids, which is great. And then we'll all be there for Thanksgiving. And so I have a whole schedule down, which is great. And, uh, it's Friday morning. I was at Newark and I was kind of bored. And, um, Something came up on my Instagram from the handle. Someone has the handle at Andy on Instagram. And I was like. Oh, man. I was like, well, that would be fun. Because I have the handle at Andy on Twitter, which, by the way, I bought from someone like 18 years ago. I bought from Andy. Yeah. Speaker 4 (8:25) And... I think it's illegal to sell usernames. It may be illegal. I don't know. But anyway, so I reached out to my friend Ricky, who works at Meta, who is, by the way, at Ricky on Instagram. And I was like, what do you think it would take for me to get at Andy on Instagram? And just for fun, I was bored. And he goes, I don't know. He goes, well, why don't you DM him? So I go to DM him. And I see that I DM the guy in 2020. I forgot. Speaker 3 (8:57) And I was like. Bored in COVID. Speaker 4 (8:59) Yeah. In 2020, I was like, hey, what would it take? And he goes, there will only be one Andy and I'm it. And I was like, okay, I get it. He goes, my girlfriend is a big fan of yours, whatever. And I go, well, can't I like, what could I do for your girlfriend? He was like, it would take like you and Sarah Jessica Parker bringing her to the Met Ball or something like that. And I was like, oh, okay. And then I said, well, oh, Jordan has info about usernames. What is it? Speaker 5 (9:29) Yeah, it's not illegal to sell them, but it does violate their terms of service and could get your account permanently banned. Well, Speaker 4 (9:36) there you go. Speaker 5 (9:37) But he could gift it to you. Speaker 4 (9:39) Anyway, I guess in 2020, I said to him, hey, want to trade at? Andy on Twitter for at Andy on Instagram. And he didn't respond. So I sent him now it's six years later. I sent him a DM and I said, Hey, would you want to trade at Andy on Instagram for at Andy on Twitter? And I forgot about it. I get on the plane and now I'm in line on the plane. And by the way, the guy in front of me is this big, tall redhead with a big red beard and i'm like is this guy a gay bear or is he like a tough missouri guy who like hates gay people and i was trying to kind of you know by the way Just because I'm booed up doesn't mean I can't check someone out. And I'm like, what is this? Now, he was seated in front of me, and it took me the whole flight to realize he was just a guy who hates gay guys. He was not. This was not. Anyway, I got to St. Louis. I had a great day with my parents. I was like, Dad, anything you would like to do with me? And he's like, well... There's a lady who loves you. She's your biggest fan. And she checks me out at the deli every Sunday. Could we go there and you take a picture with her? And I was like, yeah, of course. I go, I'll do whatever you want. Like, I'm here for you. So we went there. I took a picture with her. And he's like, well, now I want to. He wanted to take me one other place to meet a lady. He was like showing me off, which was very sweet. Speaker 3 (11:31) And Speaker 4 (11:31) I was like, great, dad. I go, if this. I go, you know, I'll also like. go get a coffee or what he goes no this is what i want to do with you i said okay so i was like mom what do you want to do with me she's like i don't know so i took her to this dress shop um and we got her a dress and um Took her, you know, to this coffee shop that my my cousin owns and talked to my cousin for a while. And then we went to the mall and drove home. We had a really nice we had a really nice afternoon. And then that night. Speaker 4 (12:16) And that night was the St. Louis Art Fair in the town that I'm from. And all the streets were closed off and they had all these booths. And it was really nice. And so my mom, I was like, by the way, it was 100 degrees on Friday in St. Louis. I mean, it was just gross. So I was like, Mom, let's go walk around a little bit. And so we went around a really big loop. My mom, as we go around, is critiquing the art. And the artists are the people manning the booths. So my mom's like, well, that's weird. What is this? And then she's like, well, this is just scary. I mean, you know, I go, mom, these are the artists. We don't, you know, we don't. What Speaker 1 (13:09) this? Speaker 4 (13:10) Yeah. So then this lady chases me down. She's like, we have a booth. She's like, we're working for the. I think it was called the Ivy Foundation. It's a sorority in St. Louis that helps promote education and scholarships in inner city St. Louis. They were raising money at their booth. And I was like, I will come back to your booth and I'm going to make a donation. I promise you. But I have to get my mom home, whatever. So go back to my parents. And then I'm like. It's dinner time. It's so hot out. I kind of had no appetite. I was like, what do you guys want to do for dinner? My mom's like, I go, we can do anything. Like, I will go anywhere. We can get anything you want. And I'm like, mom, and I'm trying to get my mom to eat more. I go, what, pancakes? She goes, would you go to IHOP with us? Speaker 3 (14:08) Oh my, that's the dream. Mom, Speaker 4 (14:10) I would love. to go to IHOP with you. We go, my dad's like, that's where we're going. We're going to IHOP. I go, yeah, we're going to IHOP. That's what we're doing. We go, um, Speaker 4 (14:24) We go to IHOP and we're the only ones in the place. We're the only ones in the joint. Now, when I was growing up, we would go to IHOP. That was our late night. That was one of our late night spots. We would go in there kind of at the end of the night. I love IHOP. Well, let me tell you this. My mom's like, do you see how clean it is in here? They keep this place so clean. I'm like, it is clean, Mom. It is clean. And let me tell you this. The pancakes at IHOP. Speaker 3 (15:02) Stop. Get out of here. Do Speaker 4 (15:04) they know what they are doing? Speaker 3 (15:06) Oh, yeah. Speaker 4 (15:07) My dad wanted a four stack. He could only get a three stack or a five stack. I go, dad, let's splurge. Let's get you a five stack. He got a five stack. My mom got an egg pancake and bacon dinner, which I did too. Breakfast. It was good. It was Speaker 3 (15:30) good. Speaker 4 (15:31) I Speaker 3 (15:32) could go on and on about IHOP. It made me so happy when Speaker 4 (15:36) you Speaker 3 (15:36) posted that photo. Speaker 4 (15:37) Yeah. We had a really nice time. And we had a lot of fun. We filled our tummies. I get home and I get notice. Someone texted me, a friend of ours, and said, man, do I hate clout chasers? And I said, what are you talking about? Speaker 3 (15:57) The Speaker 4 (15:58) guy at Andy posted my screenshot to him. and said, Speaker 4 (16:08) Andy is in my DMs and he won't take no for an answer. Speaker 3 (16:13) Oh, shut up. And Speaker 4 (16:14) I'm like, yet DMing you two times in six years is not taking no for an answer? Speaker 2 (16:25) I was like, Speaker 4 (16:27) he posted it to his Twitter. I was like, you know what? So you know what I did? I had to re-download Twitter because I don't have Twitter on my phone. Darren does all my tweets. Speaker 4 (16:42) And you know, this is the shit that I avoid on Twitter. And I went and I looked and he had all these responses from people being like, what a loser Andy is and all this stuff. And I was like, and I commented, I go, yeah, that guy's really relentless. Like twice in six years. How are you even dealing with this? And I'm like, are you such a dick that you can't just DM me back and say like, hey man. The answer is the same as it was in 2020. There was then and there will always be only one Andy. I'd be like, ha ha, gotcha, man. Speaker 3 (17:20) Like, Speaker 4 (17:21) instead you want to post it? Like... That told me all I need to know about this guy. I just... I was like, stupid. Speaker 3 (17:31) It Speaker 4 (17:31) really bummed me out. I was like, what? You have to post what? Like, why would someone post that publicly? I don't know. Anyway, that was annoying. And at dinner, I was really... You know, I mean, I kind of feel bad for my parents when I go there because I'm also Mr. Know-it-all. I become the parent. I'm telling them what I think they should be doing. And I was like, turn off MSNBC at night. I go, you are going into. Speaker 4 (18:06) You know, it's not healthy to watch all this stuff. Then I realized, you know, I'm no better. I comment on Fox News' posts five times a day. My mom goes, do you follow Fox News? And I go, no, but because I comment, Instagram feeds it to me. And I go, you know what, Mom? I am going to block Fox News right here at the table because I'm no better. I'm doing what you're doing. So I blocked Fox News. I blocked Megyn Kelly because Megyn Kelly is being fed to me because I watch her trolling. I don't comment on her, but I watch her. I blocked her ass. I blocked her. I blocked the Republican Party, which I comment on. And I'm like, okay. And then my parents were carrying on about him, you know. He shut out CNN and MS Now from covering him because he's a fucking baby and he can't handle the truth and what is covered about him unless it's blowing smoke up his enormous ass. Talk about Speaker 3 (19:22) pancake ass. Speaker 4 (19:23) And so. I was like, you know what, mom and dad, you're right. I'm no better. So I did that. Speaker 4 (19:32) And there you go. But went back and I walked through the art fair with my friend from height, from growing up, my friend Mike, who I've known, he was born three days after I was. And I walked around the art fair with him. And I got to tell you, the thing is about going to St. Louis. People come up to me that I knew in camp who I haven't seen in 45 years. And it's a whole thing. I mean, it is a whole thing. And you are really dealing with people from your past. And God, my voice is so raspy. I sound like Austin Corll today. Speaker 3 (20:17) It doesn't sound as bad as usual. Oh, really? Yeah. Speaker 4 (20:20) Maybe because I'm fasting. Speaker 3 (20:22) You're starving. I Speaker 4 (20:24) am starving. Anyway, so it was a lovely time. We had a lovely morning in St. Louis. And I do feel bad for my parents because I really am bossy with them. I'm like, you need to do this and you need to do that. And I made a list. I brought them this book by Dave Karger of 50 great movies. I'm like, you guys, they never watch movies anymore. I'm like, here are 50 great movies. Start from page one and rent a different movie on Amazon Prime every night or Apple. You can rent them and then discuss them. She's like, well, we'll fall asleep. I go. do it in the afternoon do it in the afternoon yeah julia styles is on dancing with the stars she in her package she's like going to practice with whoever her Guy is this very cute guy that she's dancing with her partner I'm like Teresa, like searching for words. She's talking to her partner and she says, do you know who Andy Cohen is? And she's like, you know, he said something on the radio that's been haunting me because I asked Kerry Washington. By the way, on a question that Jordan wrote, this is all Jordan's fault. Speaker 5 (21:58) Oh, 100%. I'm going to take all the blame for this. Speaker 4 (22:01) And I was like, well, I mean, she can't dance, right? I mean, that scene in Save the Last Dance, which I would have forgotten. Speaker 5 (22:10) Right. Speaker 4
