Speaker 1 (0:00) Next week, we are taking a special fall cruise on the Disney Wish, and I am so excited about it. Hello and welcome to Addicted to the Mouse. Today is Wednesday, September 23rd. You're listening to episode number 835, and today is our pre-trip report for our three-night Halloween on the High Seas Disney Wish cruise. Speaker 2 (0:33) Hey, everybody. Dana and Leslie here. Thanks for joining us today. I am so excited because we have not ever done a Halloween on the high seas cruise. We have done very merry time. We've been on all the ships except for the adventure. But this is one thing that we have not done yet. I'm so looking forward to it. I know. Speaker 1 (0:49) I mean, as much as we crewed. Okay. If you're new to the podcast, we are obsessed with Disney Cruise Line. We're just going to throw that out there right now. So you can see a bunch of our content from podcasts on this channel over to YouTube on our Addicted to the Mouse channel over there where we do all kinds of vlogs and trip reports. And we have taken Disney cruises to Alaska and Europe and Northern Europe and the Mediterranean and, of course, the Caribbean and the Bahamas. But we have never done Halloween. How have we never done Halloween on the high seas? Well, Speaker 2 (1:17) we don't. cruise very often in the fall, actually. That's true because Speaker 1 (1:21) we're busy with HHN and it is peak hurricane season. And the kids are in Speaker 2 (1:25) school and all that. So anyway, all that to say, we are going on the Disney Wish for Halloween on the High Seas. It's a three-night cruise. And actually, it's just Dan and I and then my niece and her husband and their little two-year-old are going. And so the kids are actually, they were both busy, so they couldn't go with us. Speaker 1 (1:44) With Halloween horror nights in school. Speaker 2 (1:47) And so, yeah, but we get to experience Halloween on the high seas for the first time. And we get to experience it with family who has not ever been on a Disney cruise and then see it all through the eyes of a two-year-old. And I'm just so excited. Speaker 1 (2:02) I am really excited to try this specialty cruise. So we have done the Very Merry Time sailings and we're actually doing another one this year. And I'm looking forward to that one too. So Thanksgiving. So that'll be super fun there. We are going to look at this through a little bit different of a lens. And from everything that I have researched from Halloween on the high seas to our experience on very merry time cruises sailing with DCL, you can't really compare these specialty cruises to the theme park hard ticketed events. So for instance, like the very merry time cruise is not the same as Mickey's very merry Christmas party. Same thing I'm assuming. Actually, I know through my research with the Halloween sailings. And so you really need to look at this as, you know, taking a Disney cruise and then there's a little cherry on top that's not normally on there with some special Halloween... flair and decor and food and different offerings. And so we're going to talk about that. So we're going Speaker 2 (2:56) to Speaker 1 (2:56) talk about everything that we anticipate seeing and doing on this Disney cruise three night sailing. We will actually have the trip report, the full trip report for you two weeks from today. And then we will also post on our YouTube channel. We are going to do a vlog on this. It's only going to be a one video vlog and I'm going to focus only on the Halloween stuff. And we're just going to kind of put the camera away for like the dinners and everything. I may do some B-roll and we can do like a voice. over or something like that for dinners. But that's to be Speaker 2 (3:23) determined. Speaker 1 (3:23) We'll see. We'll see. We'll see. So but yeah, that's what I think the frame of reference needs to be. So if you're going to get on one of these specialty cruises and like compare it to how over the top the parks are for a hard ticket event where they literally shut down the entire park and only do Halloween stuff, you're going to be disappointed because it's not the same. It's a full cruise with a sprinkling of Halloween stuff on top. Speaker 2 (3:43) Yeah, absolutely. So before we get into the actual Halloween on the high seas activities, I do have a review and a couple of pieces of news. So, um, this is from WD fan 14 says highly recommend says this podcast is great. I am 11 and have been working on wearing my family down to hopefully take another Disney world trip. I love it. And with all the tips I've been picking up, I think it's working. Thank you, Dan and Leslie. Speaker 1 (4:08) Well, thank you so much for listening and for contributing that review. We hope just like we always love going to Disney World. We hope that the wearing them down is going well and you'll be at Disney World before you know it. Speaker 2 (4:21) Good luck. You know, PowerPoint presentations or back in my day, it was like poster board presentations on convincing like whatever it was like that we needed a dog or those sometimes work. So just a little tip. All right. So a couple of pieces. news. Disneyland, uh, dropped a new little promo for the fall. So it's October 11th through December 18th of 2026 stays, um, select nights, uh, whenever it is three or more nights. Um, at a Disneyland resort hotel. So that covers all of them. So it's Grand California, Disneyland Hotel, and Pixar Place. So all of them are included in this. And you can book now through December 15th on that. So they also released like a Disney Visa promo to go along with that. So if you have a Disney Visa, then that is another option. Speaker 1 (5:13) All right, sounds good. Speaker 2 (5:14) And then DCL actually added a whole bunch of additional dates to onboard offers. Just like today. Speaker 1 (5:22) Like this is, or yesterday actually. Yeah. Speaker 2 (5:25) And so it's, they, if you already had a cruise booked with an onboard offer and one of these cruises. populated like that you saved more Disney actually automatically applies it so yeah that's Speaker 1 (5:40) nice though it's they don't do that with with discounts so if like a discount pops up on a Disney World vacation that could apply to a reservation or maybe you have a different discount and you have a better one pops up that's a manual process but yeah this is it's nice because it's just automatic if you're booked with a placeholder and a discount goes up they give it to you yep Speaker 2 (5:56) so um so yeah so that's really nice um so there's several um you know new sailings on that list. If you're looking, if you haven't booked your placeholder
