Today is Wednesday, August 26th. You're listening to episode number 827. And today we're talking all about the brand new Disney Cruise itineraries for fall of 2027 and spring of 2028. Speaker 1 (0:34) Hey everybody, Dan and Leslie here. Thanks for joining us today. It is like they put all of the itineraries and ships in a little bag and like shook them up and threw them back out to see what would happen. Speaker 2 (0:47) Yeah, this is interesting. So normally... we get a pattern of things. And there's a couple of patterns in here. But for years, we've been, you know, the Wish has been doing three and four night sailings out of Port Canaveral. And the Treasure has been doing seven night sailings out of Port Canaveral. And now the Destiny has been doing shorter sailings out of Fort Lauderdale. And the Dream has been in Fort Lauderdale. And now the Fantasy, when it's not in Europe, it's in Port Canaveral. And so on and so forth. And so we can kind of count on these things. But then, last announcement, six months ago, whenever that was, three months ago, and they... the wish went to or is going to Europe next summer. Right. And so we were kind of thinking, like, they're going to make an announcement of some changes. I mean, they just kind of have to because they keep, I mean, Disney believed the next cruise ship is coming. So they keep getting more and more ships and they aren't announcing any more ports. So we had the rumor of a ship going to Galveston year round. And so that's kind of what we were thinking might be the next announcement from Disney Cruise Line on a major itinerary change, but not so. Not so. Speaker 1 (1:54) Well, I think that if we hear that, I think it'll be in the next one because the dates that they gave us this time go through like April-ish. And so I think the next, like the summer. itinerary we'll be telling for Galveston because that's usually about when Galveston leave or the ship leaves Galveston. So if it stays there in the summer, that's. That's going to be a big deal. We'll have to see when the magic, because the magic Speaker 2 (2:20) is going back to Galveston. And so then it's going to go back up to Alaska, I assume, in the summer of 2020. Anyway, Speaker 1 (2:26) we Speaker 2 (2:26) will get into all of that. First, do we have any other news other than this massive Disney Cruise Line release or a review? Speaker 1 (2:34) We do. We have both, actually. So first, I will do the review. This is from John Bopst, and it says it's titled Sorry. Uh Speaker 2 (2:43) -oh. Why? Speaker 1 (2:45) Embarrassingly, I just found this podcast. today. I'm a big Disney fan, but the only podcasts I ever listened to are sports and history. I've heard a couple of other Disney podcasts and couldn't get into them, but love this one. I listened to four episodes today while mowing, and I probably won't try to catch up on all of the other ones. I'm a supporter from here on out. Don't blame you. Speaker 2 (3:02) 827 episodes. You're fine. Speaker 1 (3:04) I'm a boardwalk guy and love Runaway Railway, Tiana's Bayou, and Guardians of the Galaxy are my favorite rides. And my six-year-old calls Tower of Terror. Tower of the Terror. And it makes me laugh every time. I'll be back at Boardwalk next or in September and cannot wait. You guys are giving me my fix until then. Hopefully all these episodes are... intriguing to you and helpful and helpful all Speaker 1 (3:39) right all right our news is so on the same day that disney dropped the dcl uh itineraries they also let us know that disneyland is now available to book through all of 2027 um and then universal also let us know that universal is available to book universal orlando is available to book all through 2027 the Speaker 2 (4:02) one that we are waiting on is world. Walt Speaker 1 (4:06) Disney World is still holding out. They're holding fast. And we can only book through October. Honestly though, because Speaker 2 (4:12) all next week and the following week are going to be booking these new Disney Cruise Line itineraries. So I'm okay with that. I need Speaker 1 (4:19) them to give me a couple weeks now. Speaker 2 (4:20) You can slow your roll for a couple weeks. We've got these to work on. And so then maybe we can do the holiday season for 2027. after that. Speaker 1 (4:28) Yes. Yes. So, but these, this is like, I think probably the biggest announcement here with the DCL itineraries is that DCL is returning to New York. Speaker 2 (4:40) Yeah. So, so we don't have any more news. We don't Speaker 1 (4:44) have Speaker 2 (4:44) any more news. Yeah. So absolutely. This is something that, uh, so Disney Cruise Line has sailed out of New York. before, um, they will do itineraries to Bermuda. They will do itineraries to Canada. Um, they do, they, after COVID, they completely did away with the New York, uh, the New York city, um, uh, port of embarkation. And so we have been asking every time we can, like, when are you bringing New York back? When are you, my parents have mentioned like wanting to do a Canadian cruise. Um, I would love to do a, a Northeastern cruise. Absolutely. Go to Canada and hit that side of it. I mean, we've been to Canada several times on the, on the Vancouver side, but, uh, the Northeast side, I think it'd be really super cool, but a lot of people were excited about this announcement. Speaker 1 (5:26) Yes. I mean, this is, this is big news. So we're going to get into exactly what they're offering, but before we do that, um, Let me just lay out how the rollout is going to go. So basically they just announced this yesterday and they are going on sale this next week. So Pearl Castaway members can book on Monday, August 31st. Platinum can book on Tuesday, September 1st. Gold can book Wednesday, September 2nd. Silver is Thursday, September 3rd, along with Disney Vacation Club members and Adventure Insiders. So if you've ever been on Adventures by Disney. And then general booking starts on Tuesday, September. 8th. So there's a nice, I do like the way they roll out their cruises. So they give everybody who is a loyal Disney cruise line sailor, um, the opportunity to book. And then they also give that weekend buffer for a kind of things to shake out because what that does is if people go in and they grab holds, the holds will have expired by Tuesday, September 8th. And so that is nice. Whenever it opens to the general public, it will be a truer sense of availability. Yeah. Speaker 2 (6:41) So a couple of things with that. I don't think you mentioned Golden Oak residents and Club 33 members, I believe, can book Tuesday with Platinum this coming Tuesday with Platinum. Isn't that correct? I believe they Speaker 1 (6:50) didn't say that in here. So I don't know. Speaker 2 (6:52) I think I saw that somewhere. I think they can book Tuesday with the Platinum Castaway Club members, but we just have to call in to book those. The other thing you said was referencing people putting cruises on hold and then all of those holds falling off before general booking. is open on September 8th. And what we can do... If you want to book your next Disney cruise with Fantastical Vacations, any one of our agents can put these cruises, since they are so far out, we can put them on a complimentary three-day hold for every room type other than concierge, and that's a different story. And then that three-day hold either converts to a confirmed reservation if the deposit is paid within those three days, or it just expires. And so that's what Leslie is referring to. So if you are thinking about one of these itineraries and you do fall into one of these early booking categories, it would be a good idea to book one actually behoove you it would be smarter if you are relatively sure you want to do this to reach out and we can put you um put your cruise your sailing on that three-day hold um send you the confirmation and then it will give you a few days to think about it before deciding whether or not you want to put down the deposit yeah Speaker 1 (7:41) of these. Speaker 1 (7:56) absolutely so how do we want to tackle the kind of itineraries here. Speaker 2 (8:01) That was what I was asking you the other day, the way they have jumbled all of this up, just, it doesn't make a ton of logical sense by the, the, the, um, the visual aids that we are looking at. So we are basically going, um, off of the Disney always creates these visual aids, uh, to help us like keep, I don't know, some sort of. sense of control or organization over all of these logistics of all of these ships, because literally every ship sails every day of the year. So when I have to laugh when we see people posting online or even people reaching out to talk about cruises and they're like, is already ship sailing on X date? Like, yeah, they all are. All of them are. I just don't know if you have a particular port of embarkation or if you need to sail literally on that date. They aren't all sailing like in. embarking on that date, but they're doing something on that date.
