Speaker 1 (0:00) We are back with part two of our debate between Disney Cruise and Disney World, and I am here for it. Hello and welcome to A Tick to the Mouse. Today is Wednesday, September 30th. You're listening to episode number 837, and this is DCL vs. The World, why you should choose Disney World over a Disney Cruise. Speaker 2 (0:31) Hey everybody, Dan and Leslie here. Thanks for joining us today. I am so looking forward to this part two segment. If you missed part one, definitely go back and listen to it. Even if a cruise is not your cup of tea. I just think it was a lot of fun. Yeah. So Speaker 1 (0:45) the last one we, uh, we did the, uh, from the perspective of why a Disney cruise is better. This one is why Disney world is better. Speaker 2 (0:51) Yes, absolutely. So, all right. Um, before we get into it, I don't have any news, but I do have a quick review. This is from. Kit Kat 4908 and it's titled Disney Comfort Pod. I get such joy listening to Dan and Leslie each week to hear what is going on around the parks. And I love hearing about their own personal travels and bookmarking places and ideas for my husband and me. They are incredibly knowledgeable and are always willing to tell you their true opinions on their experiences, which I really appreciate when thinking about planning my own trips. However. As a Kansas Cityan, I did have to rethink things when Dan said he wasn't a fan of Travis Kelsey. I'm still figuring out if I can forgive that indiscretion. All jokes aside, keep up the great work. I can't wait to keep listening. I don't Speaker 1 (1:31) not like Travis Kelsey. I'm just not a big fan. Speaker 2 (1:36) I think it's the whole him and Taylor Swift in our face all the time. you know, it's kind of old. But your whole, if it Speaker 1 (1:45) makes you feel any better, the entire extended family absolutely loves the Chiefs and Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift and Mahomes and the whole shebang. Actually, Speaker 2 (1:56) my, so fun side story, my grandparents had season tickets to the Chiefs games when the Chiefs and the Royals shared a stadium. 4,000 years ago. So, and then up through whenever they got, you know, Chiefs got their own stadium and all of that. And then it's been, those tickets have been since passed down. But yeah, so it's Speaker 1 (2:17) fun. Anyway, well, thank you so much Kit Kat for the review. I appreciate it. Glad that we can be your comfort Disney pod. That means a ton to us. And sorry, Travis is not my biggest football player. Jason, however, Speaker 2 (2:31) like. I wasn't a Speaker 1 (2:33) big Jason Kelsey fan when he played for the Eagles either, but I think he's hilarious. Speaker 2 (2:37) He is quite funny. Now Speaker 1 (2:38) that he's retired, seeing him in commercials and stuff, I would love to see him at the Candlelight Procession. The latest Speaker 2 (2:42) one with him and his wife, and she's panicking about how to host, and he's icing the cupcakes. It's so cute. I think he's hilarious. Anyway, Speaker 1 (2:53) you said no news, right? No Speaker 2 (2:55) news. So Speaker 1 (2:55) we're just jumping right into it? Speaker 2 (2:56) Jumping right in. All Speaker 1 (2:57) right. I like it. Okay. So again, Quick recap, we did a podcast. on Sunday about the same thing, DCL versus the world. But we took the perspective of why Disney cruise line, um, is better in our opinion than Disney world. Now, because we love both pretty much equally, we are going to flip flop that onto tonight's podcast. And we are going to argue the perspective why Disney world is in fact better than a Disney cruise vacation. All Speaker 2 (3:20) right. So once again, we are looking at a four day Walt Disney world vacation versus a four night Disney fantasy cruise. Um, and so we are just gonna like, dive into why we would pick Disney World over Disney Cruise Line. Speaker 1 (3:34) Absolutely. Okay. So let's start with the ride variety thrills and park immersion. All Speaker 2 (3:42) right. I mean, come on. Like you have e-track it. E-track it. E-track it. I don't Speaker 1 (3:49) know. Speaker 2 (3:49) E-ticket thrills like Guardians of the Galaxy, Cosmic Rewind. You've got Flight of Passage. Rise of the Resistance. I suppose you could call Tron an e-ticket ride, even though it's not my choice of an e-ticket ride. Well, it is a Speaker 1 (4:04) very new, very popular one. So I think you have to include it in there. Speaker 2 (4:07) You have so many just really cool, immersive, fun attractions at Walt Disney World. Those aren't just Speaker 1 (4:15) rides. I mean, if you're talking about attractions. Speaker 2 (4:17) Oh, yeah. Speaker 1 (4:18) So you have to, okay, you have to get into the theme park, like that granted. So you need to like come to Disney World. get a hotel, and then buy your park ticket to get in. But once you're inside, it is, as far as stuff to do goes, it is all-inclusive, right? So there are no longer A, B, C, D, E tickets that you have to trade in at the rides. Once you get inside, the gates. Everything is, you can do anything you want. I mean, aside from some upgrades. But you can basically, you can ride any of the rides. They're all free to ride. Now, what you pay with, what the currency is, is time. And that's what we mentioned on the last podcast. But I love the inclusion. So you mentioned a bunch of the e-ticket rides. But when we're talking attractions, that includes so many things. It includes shows. It includes parades. It includes, I mean, we're talking, so the entertainment. Nighttime spectaculars. There's not really an attraction, but it's still, I guess, I guess parade is not really an attraction either, but it's still entertainment. It still shows. You still have Broadway caliber shows as well, like Festival of the Lion King, Finding Nemo, The Big Blue and Beyond. You've got, but yeah, the Nine Times Spectaculars. I mean, sure, you have fireworks that they shoot off on a Disney cruise ship on Pirate Night when you're sailing Bahamian and Caribbean sailings. Like, absolutely, that's amazing. But, comma, but, they aren't. They don't hold a candle to Happily Ever After. It's not even remotely close. I mean, Happily Ever After is the best firework show in the theme park in Orlando that I have ever seen. And it's not even close. In Speaker 2 (5:50) our humble opinion. I mean, Speaker 1 (5:52) if you disagree, I would love to hear why. Because I mean, it just speaks to me. Speaker 2 (5:58) Oh, yes. It's so, so good. So I mean, whenever you're looking at Disney Cruise Line as far as attractions. I mean, you've got the water coaster, whatever it is, whichever, you know, whichever ship you're on, Aqua Mouse, Aqua Deck, whatever, which is fun, but it really can't compare to your full theme park full of attractions and rides and entertainment and all the things to just, you know, keep you going, going, going all day long. It's Speaker 1 (6:25) not even close. I mean, I like a water slide, but it's not even remotely. So. It is what? Once you make it up, the Aqua Mouse in particular on the newer ships, once you make it up that little ramp and you see the show, it's so fast. It's so fast. You're like, oh, it's over. And it's just a one, right? And in Disney World, you have four theme parks and they all have amazing rides in them. So as far as ride variety and thrills go, I just absolutely love it. But let's talk about that park immersion. You can go into Galaxy's Edge. Speaker 1 (6:59) And you feel like you are in Star Wars. Yeah. I feel like I stepped inside the screen of Star Wars. You can go to Pandora, World of Avatar, and I feel like I have stepped in one of the Avatar
