Oh my goodness, it has been quite the day. Hello and welcome to Addict The Mouse. Today is Sunday June 28th. You're listening to episode number 810. And this is Disney World Hot Takes, which side are you on? has been a day. We are so we are pre-recording this because we are hosting 90 of our agents 92 of our agents for our agency meeting our annual agency meeting at Evermore this weekend. It starts on Thursday and it goes through Monday morning and it is just we just did a Costco run. This is literally the cashier said that this was the largest grocery order. He said he did have a very expensive ring that somebody bought once that was more than this but the cost of this it took four massive carts packed we should have had a fifth honestly like things were teetering off these giant carts but it took four of them and probably I mean there were three Costco workers actively trying to scan everything and move it from cart to cart like as we were checking out and it still took about 15 minutes in line but they were very efficient very fast largest grocery order he's ever seen. Yeah. I don't know how long he's work there but that's impressive. It's there's and now it's all in our house right now because because we're not going to the meeting for another couple of days and all of this will just get nasty if we let it sit out in the heat. Like even if we put it all in the garage and so it is in our office. Has to be temperature control because it is the heat index right now. It's pretty warm. It is warm. So in the garage. So in the garage would be like 106. I mean if I by now by the time this is airing it's Sunday and almost over so hopefully you have followed along on Instagram or whatever I don't know how much I'm in a post but I'll probably put stuff on there every once in a while but we're really excited for some just dedicated time with our agents this is always just such a fun event every year just to kind of like rejuvenate everybody and I just love it it's awesome it's awesome it's awesome it's awesome it's awesome I'm gonna sleep like a baby Well we don't have any news but I'm sure I'm sure Disney or Universal has dropped to something in the last few days that we'll have to catch up on later this week but I do have a quick review. It is from Ocean Sky and titled Magical Memories Made. I love your podcast it's so informative and fun to listen to it inspired me to reach out to fantastical vacations and I'm so glad I did. I went to send a big thank you to our travel agent Daniel Cook. She has planned three Disney vacations for me and several others for several others for my family I just returned from a Disney trip with my husband and we were both impressed by how smooth and well planned our trip was. Danielle helped us choose the right dates for lower crowds, the best hotel for our needs and helped us plan all the dining and other details we would not have thought of. We had an amazing vacation. That's so awesome. So thanks so much. So, thanks so much. Yes, absolutely. All right. Let's get into this controversial topic. Okay. So, so, look here's the deal I ask sometimes you kind of just need to rely on AI a little bit so today I asked AI to give me the 50 most common Disney world hot ticks and I don't know if these are the most common or not but according to Google Jim and I these are the most common ones so we're just going I'm gonna read these off and we're gonna react to them and see if we agree with them and see if we agree with them and see if we're absolutely against them and I think it should be like one of us tries to like you know support whatever the statement is and one of them one of us gives the alternative view but our views are pretty similar on most things Disney world so we're just gonna like react together I was actually kind of wondering if we would disagree with any of like with each other yeah hey like I'm not shy like if we do we can absolutely do that but I think most of these were probably gonna have the same thoughts on so shall we get started all right to kick us off we are going to magic kingdom and the first one is a massive upgrade over Splash Mountain. You know I thought I was really gonna disagree with this at first but I started thinking it because I really do love Brare Rabbit and like the whole IP behind Splash Mountain however I understand the controversy and like it just for me like as a kid I remember watching it. To be clear we liked the animals and we liked the song. Right right. And it was a cute little story. did need to be changed to get a different IP in there for obvious reasons and I absolutely love Tiana's Bayou adventure I love the themeing I love the scenes I love the songs I love the movie but that helps I guess so I kind of agree with this I mean I don't know if it's a massive upgrade but I definitely I definitely do agree that I think that it needed the upgrade it needed to be on the right side of history and all of that but I do and I agree with you that I mean the music and everything is perfect so all right number two is space mountain is too rough and outdated to be considered an elite coaster I would agree with this a hundred percent I so first off Disney land space mountain absolutely love it's great no complaints Disney world space mountain yeah it's a little rough like it is it is a little rough like it is it definitely jerks me around feel like I need a chiropractor afterwards it is very rough, especially compared to the newer coasters like Guardians or over at Universal Velocic Coaster. I do agree with this one too. I think it's a little too rough. It needs to be, yeah, upgraded. All right, next up is, happily ever after is inferior to the classic Wishes Night Show. How do you feel about this? You know, Wishes was the first nighttime show that we really fell in love with whenever we were bringing the boys. And I mean, there was something very special and magical But Happily Ever After is hands down by far my favorite nighttime spectacular that has ever come to Disney. I Okay, I like the beginning of wishes better I think with you know remember like the like the one like the the big and Jimmyy cricket talking Yeah I love Jimmyy cricket talking But I love just kind of the slow intro to kind of bring you into the show however I like the I like the and happily ever after that build up to that moment. It does work out really well. And I also like the projections a lot. Now it's a little bit unfair to compare the two because you didn't have the projection technology when wishes were first going on. So I do like happily ever after better. I don't think it's like that much better. Like I really liked wishes. Yeah, okay. But I like happily ever. But I do disagree with that statement. Okay. Number four, seven dwarfs mine train is a waste minute wait time. I don't know if it's a waste. I mean it's a great ride. It's just a very fast ride. It's just it's over very quickly and so whenever you wait for an hour and a half it's just very kind of discouraging but I agree with that I think it's a fantastic coaster if you have lightning lane or a vipip tour and you can get in the lightning lane ride. If it's a over a 60 minute wait I am not waiting for that ride. Yeah. All right. attraction. So this is clearly not taking into consideration the soon to be shut down of Carousel of progress to update some of these scenes or I guess all of the scenes. So they're adding a Walt animatronic and then they are updating scenes to be a little bit later so because this carousel of progress right now it ends up like the 70s or something like what is that the scene with the the oven that goes haywire and like the voice automation and all of that what is that supposed to be. it's actually supposed to be because it's like you're talking to your oven I think it's what they thought the future looked like it is but I mean the the architecture of that space looks like 70s to me so I'm not sure if it's I'm not sure what decades supposed to be but it starts with the turn of the century and then you go into like what the 20s and then the 50s yeah it's got to be around the 70s so I love this ride because it's classic Walt and I'm a little bit nervous about what they're gonna do with it's a lot of people feel like it needs to be upgraded. Yeah, I agree that it needs to probably be updated but I do not think I 100% disagree with the statement that it should be replaced with a modern franchise attraction. For sure. For sure. For sure. Okay, number six Tron at Light Cycle Run is way too short to justify the hype agreed. I agree with this as well. I'm not even sure I have to talk about that much. I just I just recently talked about this on a podcast. I don't understand this right. I feel like with as much. I'm all the attractions on Disney property this one is just kind of like oh here you go and it it just it I don't know it does nothing for me so yeah yeah that's whatever I agree all right next up is tomorrow land needs a complete top to bottom demolition and re-themed who that's rough that is rough that is rough I don't think it needs a complete top to bottom demolition and re-themed I actually like the theme I think tomorrow land is a really cute theme in there and I think they've I think there's probably things within Tomorrowland that might need a little yeah love well so Stitches great escape I wish they would do something that something needs to happen with that space yeah that is kind of a bummer but they just redid Buzz Lightyear and they are currently they're about to redo Careo Sell of Progress I think Stitches Great Escape and then also the the cars oh tomorrow and Speedway yes I think both of those could use some love a few years ago but yeah it's still it's it's a huge footprint and not that great of a ride I just it's really fun well you didn't ride it much because that was always what Jennings and I did whenever you and Aidan did space but I have a lot of memories on that right like it's more nostalgic for me yes all right next up is Peter Pan's flight is a boring ride skating skating I love this right now I don't think it's worth like the hour long weights that it can get but parts of the interactive which is fun that's a nice upgrade that they did but it is a it is a super short ride but is a dark ride and you were suspended from the ceiling so that is a unique take on a classic Disney dark ride and I absolutely love it I love looking at like the London like flying over London from above and seeing these scenes in Neverland from the from the ceiling basically I love it I love it I think it's great I think it's fantastic so all right next is a big Thunder Mountain railroad is better at night than any Disney fireworks I do not agree with this however I do think that riding Big Thunder Mountain is fun at night I think it's fun during the fireworks if you could because you get some pretty good shots if you
